The Apprentice Guardian is a guardian pet that is awarded for defeating the Ancient Dragon on The Summit on Easy/Medium/Hard as an Apprentice or Adept. He may also be awarded upon reaching wave 25 of the Magus Citadel on Survival or Pure Strategy Mode.

This guardian boosts the damage or potency of 1-6 defenses near the hero. He will not attempt to boost Tower Buff Beams or any defenses that lack a damage/potency stat, such as Gas Traps and Magic Blockades.

At the Defense Damage [[Defense Boost (Guardian)|Boost] stat's functional cap of 40, the guardian's damage multiplier reaches ~2.7x.

• The number of defenses it may boost at a given time may only be upgraded once every 10 pet levels, up to a maximum of 5/6 defenses.
• Improved defenses will gain a small but noticeable purple sparkle.

Mobile

On mobile devices, iOS users who submitted an application for a software update deleting their game's save data received one of the four guardian pets.

• Originally an Event for iOS users that lost their save file via the 4.2 update. Those who submitted an application got one of the 4 Guardian Heroes.
• Tegra 2 device exclusive.
