A Core Drop refers to a special weapon enemies may only drop on certain maps.

They typically roll with higher stat bonuses than common/generic weapons and some have unique descriptions. But unlike map- and challenge-exclusive rewards, their item quality tier is retained in the weapon's name.

Most core drops are exclusive to the four shard maps (Mistymire, Moraggo, Aquanos and Sky City). The elemental damage stat on some of the staves scale with Hero Damage. Since weapons in general gain more Additional Elemental Damage per upgrade than their Base Damage, these staves can become viable DPS weapons, even against the boss of CR 2.

Notes and Tips[]

  • The best way to farm core weapon drops is through Nightmare Hardcore Survival. To target-farm the staves, everyone has to be an Apprentice or Adept during combat and while opening treasure chests.
  • Unlike armor, there is no hard cap to the Survival loot quality multiplier for weapon drops as player(s) progress further and further into the run.
