Crystal Cave is a map in Dungeon Defenders Redux. It is an open lava cavern inside the Crystalline Dimension with four pathways converging at the single Eternia Crystal. Harbingers do spawn here.

Four crystalline antiheroes are fought as a boss on the last wave of the Campaign. Which portal they come out of is random.

This map also has a "No Towers Allowed" challenge, similar to the one in Deeper Well. Multiple crystalline bosses are fought every wave, with a powered up Kraken at the very end.

Rewards[]

*Weapon is chosen at random, regardless of the player's hero class on the final wave.

Survival[]

No Towers Allowed[]

  • ?
  • 1 Void Shard (on Ascension)

Strategies[]

  • Prioritize the evil Apprentice and Squire during the boss fight. Both are capable of killing heroes and defenses in a single blow, either via Mana Bomb or launching them into the lava.

No Towers Allowed[]

  • Like the first three waves at the Tomb of Etheria, at least 1 player should stay close to the Eternia Crystal until all enemies that can damage it are defeated.

Notes[]

  • While the Campaign waves have rather low enemy counts, later waves of Survival Mix Mode may have 7,000+ mobs, even when playing solo.
  • If this map is completed on Nightmare or Ascension with Hardcore or Ruthless enabled, then players have a chance to receive an Eternian weapon (ex: the greatsword) instead of a Crystal weapon.

Version History[]

  • 12.0.3:
    • Fixed Harbingers getting stuck near the ground spawns.
    • Fixed Djinn having 9.0x HP on Ruthless instead of 1.85x.
  • ?: Defense Unit supply lowered from 100 to 80.
  • ?: Introduced.

Trivia[]

This map was originally released on the Steam Workshop. Its "No Towers Allowed" challenge was the subject of a community-held event in Q4 2020. Participants received the event-only items: Inkzooka (Gun), Feathers of the Sky (Hat) and Amplifiers (Bracers).
