Hardcore Mode (HC) is a selectable gameplay option available for most missions. The toggle is symbolized by a wooden shield icon.

Effects[]

When Hardcore is enabled, players lose the ability to respawn during the Combat Phase and must wait until the wave finishes to return. The current wave will continue to play out, even after all players are dead, until either the wave finishes, or an Eternia Crystal is destroyed.

Missions played on Hardcore Mode yield more experience points and better rewards than a standard game. Loot is applied a 1.45x overall quality multiplier.

Notes[]

  • In the event that a player dies during a Build Phase and the next Combat Phase begins before they respawn, they will not respawn until the next Build Phase.
  • Players who join during a Combat Phase must wait until the wave ends to spawn in.
  • Challenge missions where lives are limited will be reduced with Hardcore enabled, possibly to where in a 4-6 player setting, nobody is able to respawn. In the Temple of Polybius for example, lives remaining will be set to 0 once the first gate is opened.
