Joust is a Countess ability unlocked at level 20. It costs 60 mana to activate and 60 per second to maintain.

The Countess charges forward in a straight line, dealing constant damage to foes and knocking them back (including Ogres). Joust will be interrupted upon running into an obstacle, such as a wall or a boss enemy, or when she runs out of mana. It can be cancelled early by casting the ability again.

As of patch 9.1.0, Joust now leaves a fire trail behind when charging, scaling exclusively with the Joust stat. In Redux, Joust's weapon damage scaling is massively improved and the fire trail that is left behind scales with Hero Damage exclusively.

On high-end solo content, Joust is a valuable ability for its very high fire damage, capable of dealing some of the highest solo burst damage in the game.

Notes/Tips[]

  • When using Joust on boss enemies, you can charge at a slight angle, causing you to move slowly along the boss' hitbox. This makes the ability last longer, thus placing more floor fire.
  • Similarly, you can use it slightly ahead of time to have the floor fire ready for when an attack window opens, such as when fighting Old One.
