On easy, and eventually even medium, this mission may be soloed without towers easily. Even during the final waves of the monster onslaught, the low amounts of Orcs will be your biggest worries. However, if a new player is attempting this map, or one is attempting hard level or higher, towers are recommended.
Tower DefenseThere is but one crystal to defend in this map, and there are four paths allowing monsters to access it. Two paths are located adjactent to eachother on the left side of the map, and two are located on the right side. It is recommended to always have at least one player watching defenses where the paths end and merge with the spawn zone. Barrier towers should be summoned immediately before the merge point in the paths, and then towers should be summoned behind them in a position allowing all towers to defend both paths. Keep in mind, there are two merging pairs of paths.

The map is recommended for new players. Who have just started the game, it is quite easy, (if you are a squire,) to place a spike/bouncer blockade near each end of pathway to protect from monsters. Or place 4 magic missile towers, one at each entrance to the crystal.
